C&D Pavers & Pebbles is owned by Diana Peeva and Colin Webster, Diana has a long history in property renovations, Colin has a history in large scale commerce. Whilst jointly involved in rebuilding and landscaping some traditional European properties the idea of importing stone was born, our stones are sourced throughout Europe.

From an early stage it was decided that it was impractical to offer a huge range of stone and the decision was made to focus on a limited quality range that would appeal to both contemporary and modern settings and could sell at an affordable price.

For ethical, and environmental reasons we are not comfortable with importing from India or China, instead the focus is on European suppliers who can ethically and dependably provide unique, attractive and quality stone at reasonable prices that has a much lower carbon footprint than stone shipped from Asia.

We do not use intermediate large scale importers, instead we personally visit prospective quarries, we review their business and products and identify those that we think are professionally managed and have products that suit the UK tastes, we then buy directly from these quarries.

By working directly and keeping our supply chain short we can keep down our costs and make our prices attractive.

When looking for supplier’s Chinese and Indian stone which is where the cheapest paving comes from were considered, but the asscocaited typical working conditions and employment practices and human rights issues make us uncomfortable with the ethical aspects of sourcing from these countries. Also we did not believe it was necessary and it certainly is not desirable from an environmental perspective to ship stone half way around the world. Instead the focus is on European suppliers who can ethically and dependably provide unique, attractive and quality stone at reasonable prices, that have a much lower carbon footprint than stone shipped from Asia.
